SLE Name: Zara Ali

Zara Ali is an Assistant Headteacher responsible for CPD.  She has over 15 years secondary teaching experience and is an AST in English.  Her areas of specialism are EAL teaching and learning, whole school literacy and action research.  She has been involved in SLE deployment at primary level and secondary.   She has been involved in carrying out action research as part of NCTL’s focus on teaching schools and raising standards.

Syreeta Anderson is Vice Principal for Provision and Learning at Lyndon School. She is an AST, and Teaching Leaders trained Facilitator. She has experience of planning and delivery of impactful CPD programmes including the bespoke four by four development programme and the NPQML. She has led on a range of curriculum development and teaching and learning projects across a range of schools within the Ninestiles Academy Trust with a specific focus and impact on Ebacc curriculum planning and outcome delivery.

Steve is an Assistant Principal at Ninestiles School, An Academy. He has taught in secondary schools since 1992 and has been an AST since 2006. Steve has improved the teaching practice of the Science departments of several secondary schools as part of the Ninestiles Academy Trust.

David is the Assistant Principal of Erdington Hall Primary School and a SLE. He has been in education for 10 years and has teaching and leadership experience in primary schools. David has worked in both Milton Keynes and Birmingham and has completed his Leadership Pathways Qualification and Aspiring to Headship Qualification. David has experience of whole school leadership, focusing on Maths, Teaching and Learning, the More Able and coaching, mentoring and training qualified teachers, NQTs and students.

Jade is the Assistant Principal for Creativity and Performance at Ninestiles School, an Academy. She started as an NQT in PE, becoming Head of Girls PE and Dance before gaining five years’ experience as Head of Physical Education. Since joining the senior leadership team, two years ago, Jade has been involved in leading on the Appraisal process as well improving the quality of teaching and learning across the school.

 

SLE Name: Andrew Beales

School: The Oaklands

Andrew is a class teacher with responsibility for the leadership of Physical Education and School Sport at The Oaklands Primary school.  He started his career as a secondary school physical education teacher, moving into primary education in 2011. Andrew bought with him a wide range of experiences, knowledge and enthusiasm and has created highly successful PE provision within the primary schools he has since worked at. He is responsible for the Sports Premium budget using it to provide professional development for staff; increasing the range of alternative physical activities to cater for less sporty children; increasing opportunities for competitive sport within the school and between schools; establishing a sports awards system throughout the school and linking up with local sports organisations to provide further sporting opportunities for children. The sport provision that Andrew led was runner up in the 2015/2016 National Community Awards.’

Victoria is Assistant Principal for Achievement at Ninestiles School and has worked in two varying secondary schools as an AST and SLE for 11 years. She has led teaching and learning, the Science curriculum and Modern Foreign languages with a clear impact upon raising standards of achievement. Victoria has led two cohorts of the NPQML and Middle Leadership programs focused upon improving pupil outcomes. She is a Future Leader in cohort 2016.

Sue is Assistant Principal at The Oaklands Primary School and is KS1 & EYFS Lead. She has also led English across the school since 2009. She has been in education since 1993 and has gained experience of supporting teaching and learning, mentoring NQT’s and providing CPD for staff.

Samantha Finch is a Trust Business Manager working across both The Oaklands and Yarnfield Primary Schools.  She has significant experience amounting to 17 Years’ within primary settings and 4 years within secondary.  She is involved in all aspects of School Management including Finance, Premises, Recruitment, IT and Health & Safety.  She specialises in transition arrangements for schools as they move from LA to academy status.

Elizabeth is the Director of Ninestiles Teaching School Alliance. Elizabeth has worked in three different schools, across three different local authorities, gaining over 10 years of experience in whole school leadership; focusing upon school led teacher training, coaching & mentoring whilst leading on programmes to structure succession planning through a school led improvement system.

Dan is a curriculum Assistant Principal within the Ninestiles Teaching School Alliance. Dan has worked as a head of department in geography and currently oversees the Globality curriculum area in Ninestiles Academy, responsible for humanities, modern foreign languages, business studies and health & social care.

Dan is a Teaching Leaders Fellow (2015 cohort), and an accredited trainer for the SSAT Leaders for the Future programme.

Anna has been faculty leader for History for 8 years and can offer a wealth of experience and support in order to develop leadership in this curriculum area. The focus is always to have a direct impact on improving pupil progress and attainment, whilst ensuring that teaching and learning is engaging and active. Her passion for Teaching and Learning in all areas enables her to deliver key areas such as; questioning, differentiation, active learning, pupil engagement and moving towards good and better teaching.

Alex is a Vice Principal at Lyndon school with responsibility for assessment and appraisal. He has over 5 years’ experience leading mathematics faculties in outstanding schools and was designated an AST in 2011. Alex has considerable experience working with maths faculties to improve outcomes for students and with schools to implement rigorous assessment strategies.

Tim Kilbride is currently an experienced Assistant Principal based at Ninestiles School specializing in CPD as well as Data and assessment.  Over the last 3 years he has delivered NPQML and the NTSA Middle Leaders programme to a large number of staff.  He also has extensive experience as an AST in the classroom and has current responsibility for whole school client engagement looking at developing how well the school communicates with its main stakeholders.

Nicola is an experienced head of history, with over 8 years in the role spanning two different schools; an inner city academy and a rural comprehensive. She is currently Director of Progress for the Globality curriculum area in Ninestiles Academy, working closely with the Curriculum Assistant Principal to support teachers and students in humanities, modern foreign languages, business studies and health & social care. Nicola has provided mentor support to trainee teachers through varying routes (PGCE, GTP, Schools Direct and Teach First) and has also acted as a mentor to fellow subject leaders both at Ninestiles and across the wider Ninestiles Trust.

Ben is Assistant Principal for Science and ICT at Cockshut Hill School and has a responsibility for aspects of Science across the Ninestiles Academy Trust. He is experienced in raising the attainment of students in Science as well as developing the quality of teaching and learning within this subject. Ben also has experience in whole school leadership; focusing on developing and delivering CPD programmes, improving whole school teaching and learning and developing a curriculum across multiple schools.

Rebecca Motley has been teaching MFL since 2005.  She was appointed as Team Leader of MFL in 2007 and more recently has become an Assistant Headteacher.  In her new role Rebecca has been responsible for developing a KS3 MFL Curriculum for the NAT as well as working with MFL leads from both Ninestiles and Cockshut Hill to improve the teaching practice within these departments.

School: The Oaklands

Natalie has 20 years teaching experience across KS2. She has led a number of curriculum areas, most notably English and, more recently, Maths. As Vice Principal, she is now the Inclusion lead for the school – leading a team of colleagues whose aim is to ensure that all children, including the more vulnerable, make good progress and fulfil their potential. She has led CPD on a number of aspects of Primary provision including; Writing, Reading, Maths pedagogy, teaching and learning strategies for formative assessment, behaviour management and behaviour for learning (including metacognition and ‘Growth Mindset’).

Carol is an Associate Principal of Ninestiles Academy Trust and an SLE. She has been in education for 28 years and has teaching and leadership experience in both Primary and Secondary schools. Carol has provided staff training and support in both Birmingham and Sandwell; she was an advisory teacher for science in Birmingham, and a School Improvement Consultant for Sandwell LA for five years. Carol has been actively involved in national and regional networks across the West Midlands; focuses upon EAL provision and language development across the curriculum.

Kate is a Vice Principal in the Ninestiles Academy Trust and currently works at Pegasus Primary School.  In education for 25 years, Kate has held a variety of senior leadership roles in different Midlands’ schools. She has also taught in a special school in Leicestershire, teaching students with PLD from seven to sixteen years of age.

Whilst Kate was an acting Head, she achieved her NPQH for implementing successful school improvement.  She is currently focused on raising standards in English, Inclusion, SEND (as SENDCO) and EAL.  She is a mentor on the SCITT programme and has delivered training to secondary trainees.

 

SLE Name: Chris Silverton

School: Ninestiles Academy Trust

Chris is Director of ELearning for Ninestiles Academy Trust and a SLE. He has been in education for 15 years.   Chris has a wide range of knowledge which includes the use of learning technologies, implementation and development of learning platforms, software development, parental engagement, video production and developing and delivering CPD programmes in the use of various software and hardware. He has spoken at various national events and conferences and has worked with several schools on projects both nationally and internationally.

 

SLE Name: Richard Simcox

School: Erdington Hall Primary

Richard is Principal at Erdington Hall and is an SLE. Richard has been a senior leader for over 5 years and been part of the leadership team taking the school from being named in the bottom 200 in the country to being designated as good in 2016. Richard has been a lead practitioner in the past and worked across various primary settings in this role. Richard leads on assessment and standards across the Trust for the primary schools and has played a leading role in the development of assessment in ‘life after levels’.

Harriett is the Assistant Principal of Erdington Hall Primary School and a SLE. She has been in education for 11 years and has teaching and leadership experience in Primary schools. Harriett has successfully completed her NPQSL and inspection dashboard training, she has experience in whole school leadership; focusing upon assessment, data and literacy. Coaching and mentoring NQTs is also part of her responsibilities.

 

SLE Name: Jayne Smith

School: Cockshut Hill

Jayne is Assistant Principal with responsibility for mathematics within the Trust.  Currently Jayne is based at Cockshut Hill School, a recent addition to NAT, creating and developing their mathematics department.  She has over 20 years of experience, undertaking various post holder roles within the two secondary schools in which she has worked.  Jayne’s adaptability has seen her working with Primary and Secondary colleagues with subject knowledge enhancement and pedagogy.  Her experience in subject leadership has seen her support mathematics departments in other local and national secondary schools; school to school support has been, and continues to be, a major focus of her work.

School: Yarnfield Primary

Jess is an Assistant Principal at Yarnfield Primary School. She has worked in the Early Years over the last 7 years and is experienced in developing the quality of teaching and learning across the Foundation Stage. Jess has been involved in mentoring of trainee teachers and has supported a number of teachers, both in terms of teaching and with their leadership.

Emma is the Secondary Course Manager for ITT within the Ninestiles Teaching School Alliance. Emma was Head of girls PE at Ninestiles School before furthering her career by becoming an AST in 2011 with specialisms in PE, teacher training and Inclusion. She has been involved in teacher training since 2008 becoming an SLE in 2013 in initial teacher training and PE.

 

SLE Name: Raynah Thomas

School: Cockshut Hill

Raynah has mentored trainees and NQTs at Cockshut Hill for the last 8 years, working with Warwick University, Newman College, The Robert Owen Consortium and the NSTA. She has often been able to coach struggling and failing trainees and support them through difficult periods, and as such became an informal ‘troubleshooter’ for Warwick University PGCE trainees.   She has more than two decades of teaching experience specialising in English, and has led numerous INSETs whilst in post.  She has an interest in classroom innovation and assessment for learning.

Christa is a Ninestiles Academy Trust SENDCo across the three secondary settings.

Extensive experience has been gained over 10 years as a SENCo and more recently as an Associate Assistant Principal for Inclusion and SENCO Action Leader across the East of Birmingham.

She has been involved in delivering whole school training, NQT sessions, induction training for ITT and actively involved in supporting school improvement for SEND in various schools.

Louise Waller is an English Adviser currently working across the Trust schools and a SLE. Louise has been in education for 23 years and has teaching and leadership experience in a wide range of varied and diverse Primary schools. Louise worked as a Teaching and Learning Consultant in Gloucestershire for 9 years and as a National Strategy Regional Adviser for 5 years responsible for communication, language and literacy development across the South West of the country. More recently, Louise has run her own successful education advisory business and has delivered extensive bespoke training packages nationwide, covering all aspects of English, curriculum development and leadership, assessment, moderation, standardisation and EYFS.

Katie is a teacher at Erdington Hall School, an SLE and currently studying for her Master’s degree in Educational leadership with BCU. She has been teaching for 15 years and has been a middle leader for Maths in her primary school, having completed the Specialist Primary Mathematics Programme (MaST) and previously worked as a Numbers Count teacher.  Katie has mostly taught in Key Stage 1 and Early Years. This has enabled her to plan and deliver a variety of experiences using a range of teaching and learning strategies. She has delivered the statutory assessment phonics screening tests for Year 1 and most recently the new SATs assessment arrangements for Year 2. Katie has supported SCITT and BCU students in school as well as support NQT development.

Jenny is the Assistant Principal for English and Literacy. She has worked in two different schools for over ten years. She worked as a main scale teacher for three years before taking on responsibility in the faculty, leading Key Stage 4 for two years before becoming Head of Faculty 6 years ago. She has been involved in mentoring of trainee teachers and has supported a number of teachers, both in terms of teaching and with their leadership.

Lucy has been actively involved in supporting school improvement in various schools across Birmingham with particular focus on teaching and learning and leadership development.
