Trainee “There was warmth about Ninestiles from day one and three weeks in, the school feels like home. The transition period to settling down has been incredibly smooth, thanks in no small part to the staff who are welcoming, friendly and always willing to help. I feel as though I have been here for years and not weeks and if the first three weeks are any indication as to the combination of professionalism, support and competence at Ninestiles Academy, then I would like nothing more than to stay!”

Trainee “Training with Ninestiles ITT Consortium & BPTP has definitely been one of the most challenging experiences I’ve taken on, before stepping into the teaching profession there’s certainly some things I wish I’d known and been prepared for. The year has really flown by and I don’t think I’ve ever learnt so much in such a little time! Math was always a struggle for me in school but the methods we’ve learnt in numeracy training sessions have made it my favourite subject to teach, and when a child tells you after lesson that they really enjoyed it and has a positive opinion of the subject, it’s the highlight of my day! Coming back to education after some time out has been a struggle but the results have definitely been rewarding.  Improving my subject knowledge has been the aspect I’ve found the most interesting, there’s such a wide variety to cover and it’s an exciting challenge to think of different ways to incorporate the lessons into the terms topic. Being a teacher means that no day is the same, or what you expect. You have to be flexible and be able to think on your feet, that’s certainly been an important aspect of my training placement this term. I don’t expect that, throughout my teaching career, my training will ever finish and I will continue to learn something different everyday.”

Trainee “After successfully completing my Post Graduate Certificate via the Ninestiles SCITT route, I did not want to pass up on an opportunity to further enhance my Teaching career portfolio by fulfilling the Masters degree which was offered and supported via the Ninestiles ITT Consortium & BPTP. The course structure is very thorough as it offers a targeted yet effective range of modules to suit all stages in the Teaching profession. Service is second to none as personalised learning is heavily supported and offered via an individual basis to all and available in many methods i.e. one to one sessions, group seminars, quick responses on e-mail, access to Birmingham City University documents, tools and the library.  Above all the course leaders are experts in their fields and are ‘best in class’ as will always aim to support you through the course regardless of your subject specialism, due to their wealth of experience and knowledge.”
